Can you count to 5?

Then you can do this breath practice:

  • Sit or lie down and relax your body
  • Close your eyes and watch your breath moving in and out
  • Deepen the inhale into the belly, lengthen the exhale
  • In through your nose out through your mouth
  • Now Inhale into the belly to the count of 5
  • Exhale to the count of 5
  • Long, slow and steady
  • Do this 10 times

You are balancing your breath.

You may feel more relaxed and your mind may feel quiet and calm.

The breath and the mind are so connected, that a nervous breath, chest breathing may make a nervous mind and stories of anxiety may come into your mind.  If you breathe deeply and slowly, the mind will calm and stories in your mind can change to more positive relaxing stories and remembrances.

You can do this practice anywhere anytime.
